One-of-a-Kind Experiences

Dig deep and join us for some meaningful and one-of-a-kind experiences.  The people and cultures of the North Cape Coastal Drive are fascinating.    Culinary, artistic, or outdoorsy – we have the adventure for you.

The tales that our locals tell are rich and fascinating. Folks here like to make connections, to show visitors “how it’s done”. You’ll likely meet a few good storytellers and fascinating characters on your trip around the coast.  Let us help you enrich your experience by suggesting a few highlights.

The Mi’kmaq people have a proud history on this island that stretches back thousands of years before European settlers first arrived at our shores.  Come to Lennox Island and get a tour of the “Trail of Our Forefathers”. You’ll hear fascinating stories of the history of the Mi’kmaq people, and learn some medicinal lore.

Our Fishermen come from brave stock; back in the day they might leave family and friends for days or weeks to fish the waters around PEI. Well,  you’ll see that same independent spirit in their descendants.  Try your hand at a deep-sea tuna fishing adventure, or lobster fishing, and you’ll spend an afternoon immersed in the seaman’s lifestyle.

We have local chefs practicing traditional cooking on wood-stoves. Mi’kmaq artisans are reclaiming the time-honoured skill of Porcupine Quill Art.  There are fun workshops like crafting with bunny wool, and educational experiences like shoreline exploration and interpretive activities.  With humour and pride, our locals will treat you to an experience you will never forget!
