Howards Cove Lighthouse
The first light was established at Howard’s Cove in 1960 and the lighthouse was built in 1976. Located on a high cliff, the 5.8 m (19-foot) tower is one of the smallest lighthouses on the Island. It is a wooden, square pyramid-like tower topped by an enclosed lantern open to the two seaward sides. It is covered with cedar shingles and painted white with red trim. The gallery is supported by metal brackets. It overlooks the fishing harbour and fish plant, and is in operation year round.
