Outdoor Adventure

Your outdoor adventure awaits whether you choose to take a flying tour of the region in a four-seater Cessna, or to cycle along the 110 km of Confederation Trail from Summerside to North Cape.

We have hundreds of kilometers of shoreline and waterways to explore. Paddle Casumpec Bay out to the sand dunes. Explore the bends and twists of a river estuary – and get out your camera to catch the perfect shot of a diving kingfisher, or soaring eagle. Visitors can hire a local to go clamming and beach-combing. You can follow up the adventure with a seafood boil on the beach. Be sure to drive the coast, exploring all the red dirt roads that lead to secluded beaches, perfect for picnics.

Hike and bird-watch  at the multiple Provincial Parks.  We have an extensive system of manicured trails, formally named the Confederation Trail, but  called the “Rails to Trails” by locals.   Try your hand at geocaching, a popular activity along the Rails to Trails.

Fall is a great time to visit for outdoor adventure – the campgrounds are quiet, the foliage is spectacular, and we have u-pick orchards and food festivals to experience.

Winter holds its own promise of adventure with sleigh rides at Mill River, and snowshoeing and cross country skiing trails at our Provincial Parks.  The Snowmobiling Association keeps about 550 miles of Confederation Trail well groomed for snowmobiling enthusiasts.
