Richard Wood

For over 30 years, Richard Wood has lit up stages across the globe with his electrifying, traditional-rooted Celtic music. A 5-time ECMA and multi–Music PEI Award winner, Richard is internationally recognized for his masterful fiddling, high-energy performances, and deep connection to Prince Edward Island’s musical heritage.

His acclaimed 8th album, UNBROKEN, mastered by Grammy legend Bob Ludwig, earned a Canadian Folk Music Award nomination and praise as some of his best work to date. Richard is also a two-time Don Messer Memorial Trophy winner and a decorated step dancer and fiddler.

From Carnegie Hall to Disney World, and from Parliament Hill to performing for royalty and world leaders, Richard’s career is filled with milestone performances—yet he is most proud of having played for Canada’s Armed Forces in the North Pole, Bosnia, and twice in Afghanistan.

He’s toured with icons like The Chieftains and Shania Twain, and appeared on major shows including Good Morning America, The David Letterman Show, and beloved Canadian programs like Rita and Friends.

A dynamic performer and cherished local talent, Richard continues to represent PEI with pride, bringing his music to audiences across Australia, Europe, Asia, and North America.
