Connected to the mainland by a short causeway in Malpeque Bay, Lennox Island is home to the Lennox Island First Nation, a vibrant Mi'kmaq community with a rich cultural heritage and a strong connection to the land and sea.
Visitors are invited to experience Mi'kmaq culture through authentic, hands-on activities that celebrate traditional knowledge, storytelling, art, music, and food. Cultural experiences may include birch bark quillwork, bannock and clam cooking, hand drum workshops, and the Kairos Blanket Exercise, offering meaningful opportunities to learn about Indigenous history and traditions.
Beyond its cultural experiences, Lennox Island offers scenic walking trails, coastal landscapes, locally made arts and crafts, and seasonal events, including National Indigenous Peoples Day celebrations and the Annual Mawi'omi Powwow.
