MacAusland’s Woollen Mills

38317 PE-2, Bloomfield, PEI

About

Established in 1870, MacAusland’s Woollen Mills is Canada's oldest family-run woollen mill and the only mill in Atlantic Canada still producing traditional 100% virgin wool blankets. Located along Highway 2 near Mill River Resort, the working mill has been weaving its renowned MacAusland Blankets since 1932.

Visitors are welcome to explore the mill at their own pace, watch historic machinery in action, and learn about the traditional process of turning raw wool into finished blankets. The on-site shop offers a selection of wool blankets, yarns, and locally made products, making it a popular stop for those interested in Island craftsmanship and heritage.

A visit to MacAusland’s Woollen Mills offers a unique opportunity to experience one of Prince Edward Island's longest-standing manufacturing traditions. Please note that children must be supervised, pets are not permitted inside the mill, and footwear is required.
