Jacques Cartier Provincial Park

Jacques Cartier Provincial Park is a scenic campground in Western PEI, offering sweeping views of the Gulf of St. Lawrence and access to a slender, sandy beach. Named after French explorer Jacques Cartier—who came ashore here in 1534 and famously called it “the fairest land ‘tis possible to see”—the park is rich in both natural beauty and historical significance.

Campers can enjoy serviced and unserviced campsites, a playground, restrooms with showers, and a supervised beach during the summer season. Pets are welcome on leash, and the peaceful setting makes it a favourite for families, couples, and nature lovers alike.

Each July, the park hosts Rediscovery Day, celebrating Cartier’s arrival and the area's early history. Whether you're here for a beach day, a weekend getaway, or to immerse yourself in local heritage, Jacques Cartier Provincial Park offers a memorable Island camping experience.
